Smile
It
costs nothing, but means much.
It enriches those who receive it without impoverishing those who give
it.
It happens in a flash but the memory sometimes lasts forever.
None are so rich that they can go along without it;
None are so poor that they are not richer for its benefits.
It is rest to the weary,
Daylight to the discouraged,
Sunshine to the sad,
And its nature's best antidote in time of trouble.
Yet it cannot be bought or borrowed or stolen.
For it is something that is no earthly use to anyone
Unless it is given away.
And if in the rush of life or business you see someone too tired to
give you a smile,
Then leave one of yours;
For no one needs a smile so much as those who have none left to give.
Anon.
