NICK'S HUMAN!
Big Brother baddie just acted naturally
An article by J Brend about the departure of the phenomenon's self-appointed bad boy Nick Bateman said the former public school boy adopted a game plan to live by the sword and die by the sword - a typical “fight and flight” strategy often used in times of stress by our primitive, ancestral brain.
Nick went in fighting but soon came a cropper. He tried to use manipulation and mind games to influence the outcome of the show. Part of human nature is to trust others. When this trust is misplaced then strong feelings emerge, as shown by the group. Initial reactions included feelings of anger and pity.
Nick claims he is a master of the alternative therapy technique Reiki. Many people go into the caring professions believing they can help others. What they sometimes find they enjoy and become addicted to, is the feeling of power to influence other people and make decisions for them. In this situation Nick used the power of authority to create an air of awe around him. The best of people can be swept along by emotions such as greed, anger, fear, lust, even depression. Nick is only human after all.

Big Brother- the British TV game show, created an enormous following with huge TV ratings. The competition was about being in a closed environment with other strangers for 10 weeks and one chance to win loads of money. Many cameras followed their every move beamed live to audiences on Television and the Internet. Stress responses began to show under the pressure. Ancient primitive survival strategies surfaced as aggression, withdrawing, tears, lying, cheating and being two faced. Different behaviour shown by caring, mothering and authoritarian performance styles created strong competitive rivalry.
Recent research suggests that people lie at least twice a day.

John Ratey A Users Guide to the Brain 2001. "Perhaps human brains have algorithms that are specialized for detecting cheaters. Researchers have shown that we have an "error catcher" mechanism that requires an intact anterior cingulate and orbitofrontal cortex. An ability to detect cheaters would be one indication that the brain is innately prepared to participate in social life and the give and take of everyday existence."
SPOT THE CHEATERS and their game plan
People like to cheat in order to gain the upper hand. The internet is ripe for such things as copying others for profit and to gain ranking. How desparate they must be to do so, unable to be creative in their own right or is it a genuine mistake?
Watchout for those who steal words and phrases to gain a high ranking by riding on the back of someone elses hard work. For example this web site has been running for 4 years and now the description - performance stress in game shows and organizations and the long term health effects was copied by another web site.
