UK television show. Celebrity Big Brother Live 2002. Are you addicted to watching the house?

- six celebrities in the house for ten days - aiming to raise money for charity. Under pressure - did they perform or just chill out? Assumptions and expectations - expect the unexpected. Celebrities show the normal side of life.

“Beds are unmade” - a phrase designed to test the mind.

The new series started after the contestants arrived in the house and the bedrooms were opened. The contestants were told that there were 3 beds made up and 3 unmade. The first celebrity to enter the bedroom immediately broke into hysterical laughter and the beds really did need making up from scratch using screws, hammer and screwdriver. The celebrities STARTED OUT by making tea/coffee for everyone, showed typical English behaviour in a social gathering. Some had young families back at home; so a mums and dads role seemed to be normal. One even said he was already missing his family unable to pick up the telephone to chat to them. Another was thinking how the television on the wall that could not be turned on was a reminder of outside the house. One person thought; that they may be asked to be more entertaining.

Did they do enough or too much?

Goldie; behaved as an extrovert and very entertaining found Melinda Messinger and her continuous smile too much to bear.

Sue Perkins found her logic mind different to others - she chose to eliminate by using a rota system. Sue said afterwards that this was a stupid idea.

Les Dennis said he would show himself; warts and all. He spent a great deal of time worrying - either about being a performer or about not hurting others.

The newspapers decided that Anne Diamond was too fat, lonely and depressed and was obsessive about her children - seems any story makes the headlines if a celebrity is involved.

And finally Mark Owens said he thought he “grew up in the house”. He had time to think, play about, clean the house a lot, sleep when the mood seemed right and play gentle tricks designed to amuse. He felt he had laughed a lot more than usual. Mark Owens wins.
